GAME VIEWING, BIRDING, ETHNIC/CULTURAL The 2 200 ha Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve on the slopes of Mount Anderson supports a number of antelope species, from the majestic eland to the diminutive steenbok, and more than 100 bird species. Also of interest are archaeological ruins from the Later Iron Age, and the remain of Anglo-Boer War forts. Location: North-eastern Mpumalanga; north-east of Lydenburg. Access: From Lydenburg take the R37 towards Sabie; the Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve lies to the left of the road a short distance out of town. Accommodation: A hiking trail hut. There is accommodation in Lydenburg. Other facilities: An overnight hiking trail and 3 nature trails; picnic sites with fireplaces; game viewing, a museum complex including an auditorium and a curio/craft shop. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: Winter - 08h00 to 16h00; summer - 07h30 to 16h00 (08h00 to 17h00 at weekends)
