Also of interest are archaeological ruins from the Later Iron Age, and the remain of Anglo-Boer War forts. Location: North-eastern Mpumalanga; north-east of Lydenburg. Access: From Lydenburg take the R37 towards Sabie; the Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve lies to the left of the road a short distance out of town. Accommodation: A hiking trail hut. There is accommodation in Lydenburg. Other facilities: An overnight hiking trail and 3 nature trails; picnic sites with fireplaces; game viewing, a museum complex including an auditorium and a curio/craft shop.
